CompressIt is a free online image compression tool available at issawsleiman.github.io/compressit. The service is operated independently and provided free of charge.
2. What Data We Collect
We collect minimal data to operate the service:
- No image data — all compression happens entirely in your browser. Your images are never uploaded to any server.
- No personal information — we don't ask for your name, email, or any account details.
- Basic analytics — we may use Google Analytics to track anonymous usage statistics such as page views and country of visit.
- Ad data — Google AdSense may use cookies to show relevant ads. See Section 5 for details.
3. How Your Images Are Processed
CompressIt uses your device's own processing power (via JavaScript and the HTML5 Canvas API) to compress images. This means:
- Your images are processed 100% locally in your browser
- No image data is ever transmitted to our servers or any third party
- We have zero access to the content of your files
- Files are not stored anywhere after you close the browser tab
4. Cookies
We use the following types of cookies:
- Strictly necessary cookies — required for the site to function
- Advertising cookies — set by Google AdSense to serve relevant ads
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling advertising cookies will not affect the tool's functionality.
5. Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google may use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your browsing history. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
6. Children's Privacy
CompressIt is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
